Trump’s Truth Social App launches on IOS

A brand new social networking platform called Truth Social was created late Sunday in the Apple App Store by former US President Donald Trump, perhaps signifying his comeback to social media after being barred from several sites in 2017. So, Trump’s Truth Social App launches on IOS.

Apple Inc. consumers who pre-ordered the software could download it as soon as it became available for download just before midnight ET.

The statement “Due to overwhelming demand, we have put your name on our waitlist” was received by some users who could not sign up for an account.

Reuters earlier reported that the app was accessible to anyone invited to use it during the testing period.

Donald Trump was banned from many the social media platforms Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube after January 6, 2021, assault on the US Capitol by his followers.

Former Republican US Representative Devin Nunes leads Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the initiative behind Truth Social, which hopes to attract users who believe their ideas are restricted on more established platforms and positions itself as a defender of free expression.

Twitter’s younger rivals Gettr and Parler, as well as video-sharing site Rumble, have yet to achieve the same level of fame as the more well-known businesses in the space.

As of this week, we’ll be launching in the Apple App Store. In an interview with Fox News in “Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo,” Nunes stated, “that would be wonderful because we will attract so many more folks on the platform.

According to him, “Our objective is, I believe we will hit it, I think by the end of March, at least inside the United States, we will be completely functioning.”

Verifying an earlier report from Reuters and showing that version 1.0 of Truth Social was accessible in the app store only hours ago confirms the app’s first public release. On the website for the current version, “bug fixes” are listed.

Supporting the beat with drums

In an apparent effort to boost activity on the app, Nunes urged users to follow more profiles, submit images and videos, and join in chats on Friday, according to a source extremely familiar with the situation.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Nunes welcomed a new user who seemed a Catholic priest and forced him to get additional priests to join.

However, even as information about the program begins to emerge, TMTG remains mostly cloaked in secret, and some in the IT and media worlds are skeptical of its validity. For example, it’s not apparent how the firm is currently supporting its expansion.

If no DWAC shareholders redeem their shares, TMTG stands to collect $293 million in cash held in trust by DWAC as part of a merger with blank-check business Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC), according to a news statement issued by TMTG on October 21.

Another $1 billion in private investor funding was obtained by TMTG in December. This money will not be available until the DWAC purchase is completed.

SEC and US Financial Industry Regulatory Authority are investigating Digital World’s operations, according to a regulatory document, which indicates that the purchase is still months away from finalizing.
